On Monday, The Georgia Bulldogs & Alabama Crimson Tide will meet up for all the marbles in Atlanta, however; don’t expect UCF to recognize either team as the true top dog in college football this season.
Central Florida athletic director Danny White confirmed Wednesday that although the playoff committee selected Oklahoma, Georgia, Bama, & Clemson to battle for the right to play for the championship, his Knights would be known on THAT campus as this year’s true national champion after an undefeated season:

After UCF defeated Auburn 34-27 in the Peach Bowl, White shouted out the Knights “NATIONAL CHAMPS, UNDEFEATED”:

Granted, the Knights deserve congratulations & respect for what they were able to accomplish this season. But; if they want to continue to build clout so they have a better shot at the big dance in future years, they might want to avoid silly things like this. I mean, they’re even planning a victory parade, via Bleacher Report. If they drop off next season and win less, this is sure to be a goto for memes.
Do you think UCF has an argument for the true best squad in the land? Or is this just a cheesy motivaton tactic?
