A Florida woman is receiving death threats via social media after shoving her son’s head in the toilet and posting the images online.
WFTV.com reports that Kaitlyn Wolf is under investigation after a video surfaced on Facebook showing her dunking her 3-year-old son’s head in a toilet for using profanity. Wolf says it was a joke between herself, her older son and the toddler.
“It was a joke between the three of us. My sons and I horseplay rough,” Wolf said. “We stuck his head in the toilet and flushed it. And my older son was recording it.”
“His head was never under the water, his face never got wet. It was maybe the top or this part of his hair,” she said. “It’s scary to think I might lose my children over this — over a joke that we played.”
The video reportedly went viral after the boyfriend of Wolf’s baby sister posted it on Facebook. Wolf says she sent the video to her son’s babysitter as a joke and suggesting it was a new method of discipline. Social media users became outraged and notified local authorities with some going so far as to issue threats. After being flooded with calls, the Leesburg Police Department opened an investigation in conjunction with the Department of Children and Families.
