Texas Superindentent Lynn Redden of Onalaska ISD came under fire on social media for posting on Facebook that you can’t count on black QBs in regards to Texans QB Deshaun Watson after their 20-17 to the Titans in Week 2. He finally apologized after posting the racist comment on the Houston Chronicle‘s Facebook page.
“That may have been the most inept quarterback decision I’ve seen in the NFL,” said Redden. “When you need precision decision making you can’t count on a black quarterback.”
Redden also thinks that based on NFL history, black QBs haven’t had success. Redden apologized to the Houston Chronicle only after he realized his comment was public and quickly said that he regretted saying it. He still hasn’t faced some sort of punishment.
White supremacists will always try to play the victim when they get caught being openly racist. It’s also ridiculous how he “can’t count on black QBs” but would probably be fine with Tom Savage being the Texans’ QB again.
