Daniel Cormier might be a champion in the octagon, but he’s a champion outside the octagon.
Cormier paid a $300 dinner bill for a woman at a Japanese restaurant in Monterey, CA. The thing he didn’t know? The bill he paid for was from a stage 4 cancer patient, Rosario, who was having her birthday dinner with her son, Pete Guzman, at the same restaurant.
Cormier and his fam couldn’t have been better people. They had a great conversation and even posed for pics afterward.
And even better, Cormier and his family sang happy birthday for Pete and his mom Rosario.
To end off the night, Cormier did something that might not seem so significant, but I imagine lifted Rosario’s spirits
To top it all off….Cormier even gave Rosario a handwritten birthday wish and autograph!!
Rosario ended up loving every minute of her experience, as explained by her son.
“Oh, and get this…Pete says Cormier didn’t know Rosario was battling stage 4 cancer (she never mentioned it at the table). But, the gesture provided so much happiness during this difficult time.”
It was a great gesture by Cormier, giving us the lesson that you don’t know who you could be helping, just a gesture like this could go a long way.
