Oakland As starting pitcher Frankie Montas was hit with a massive 80 game suspension for PED use. This coming after he had a great outing versus the Tampa Bay Rays last Friday. Montas issued a statement through the Mlb players association he stated “I am deeply saddened to confirm that MLB recently notified me I have tested positive for ostarine a prohibited substance under MLB Joint Drug Agreement”
He later went on to apologize for stating “I sincerely apologize to the A’s organization, the fans, my teammates, and my family for this mistake. My hope is to be able to return to the A’s after this season and contribute as best as I can”
The A’s were devastated when news broke. especially now they have lost their top ace. Montas currently has a 9-2 record with a 2.70 Era. At this point, you would think the MLB players would know what to take and what not to take. But once again it seems as if another MLB player has fallen victim to another PED suspension.
