The Pelicans and Lakers pulled off the biggest trade of the offseason so far as Anthony Davis was finally traded to LA. Davis wanted out of New Orleans all season long and even the team getting the first overall pick to draft Zion Williamson wasn’t enough to convince him to stay.
The Pelicans had a very solid draft as they got Zion Williamson and Jaxson Hayes in the top 10. According to WWL-TV’s Andrew Doak, Head Coach Alvin Gentry was asked about the AD trade and made a hilarious Looney Toons reference with “That’s a haul, folks.” This is definitely a trolling response to AD after he wore a Looney Toons “That’s All Folks” shirt at his last home game with the Pelicans in April.
Alvin Gentry on the bevy of players & picks they were able to get out of the Anthony Davis trade:
“That’s a haul folks.”
A very punny response to AD’s “That’s All Folks” Looney Tunes shirt.

As far as the future of the Pelicans, it’s very bright. They have a very talented starting core with Zion, Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Jrue Holiday, and Julius Randle. (Should he re-sign with New Orleans this summer.) They could very well be playoff bound this season I think they could reach the sixth seed.
