The Chris Paul and James Harden era seem to be over in Houston and Paul wants a way out. Rumors have been circulating that the veteran may end up with LeBron James in Los Angeles. Then it was reported that the Rockets actually tried to trade Paul to another big market and not the Lakers.
According to the reports, the Rockets contacted the New York Knicks who desperately need star players and have cleared up max spots to get players like Paul. Unfortunately, the Knicks rejected the offer.
It’s not like the Knicks don’t have the cap space but they want to bring their checks to players in the free agency and get Kevin Durant or Kawhi Leonard or maybe Kyrie Irving. However, it’s not guaranteed they will get any of these players which is different from a Paul trade.
Before the NBA lottery draft, Knicks general manager said it only makes sense to take the top three players hoping with their tanking season they would get the number one pick
“Obviously, we always want the biggest talent. You want to see electric players. And both of those guys [Zion Williamson and Ja Morant] are that,” Scott Perry said.
Well, we all saw what happened in the lottery.
The only thing that’s guaranteed in New York is they have the third pick in tomorrow’s draft and have a whole lot of money. Hold on Knicks fans, it’s going to be a bumpy ride.
