Mark Jackson coached the Warriors from 2011-2014 and is viewed by many as the one who helped put together the team’s dynasty that has won three titles in 2015, 2017, and 2018. He was fired in 2014 after losing to the Clippers in the first round of the playoffs in seven games.
Jackson has the resume to land other head coaching jobs in the NBA but that hasn’t happened since leaving Golden State. He’s a very religious man and Kendrick Perkins believes that’s why he is being blackballed. Perkins took to Twitter to say Jackson wasn’t fired because he wasn’t a good coach but because of what he believes in in regards to Christianity. He concluded by saying this is all facts.
This is something that has been rumored for years now. Jackson’s supposedly enforced his religious beliefs in the locker room and execs weren’t feeling it. Flip the pages for Perkins’ tweet and reactions to his hot take.
