Hall of Famer Brett Favre told TMZ Sports that his beloved Green Bay Packers are going to win the NFC North this season, telling TMZ Sports,
“They’re going to surprise a lot of people this season and win the NFC North”
Favre is strong believer in Super Bowl Champ Aaron Rodgers, and a full season being healthy under his belt will pay dividend. Needless to say, the division is loaded, including a daunting task playing at Soldier Field tonight against the Chicago Bears to open up the season. Asked what he thinks the chemistry will be between A-rod and new head coach Matt Lefleur, Favre stated,
“I don’t know much about LaFleur, he may be a great coach, might be a great guy, I don’t know … I don’t know him, its not my place to say anything in regards to that.” “But, I do know Aaron. And, the reason they’ve been in contention year in and year out is because of him … and you don’t want to restrict even though, supposedly, the offense has changed to a certain extent. We will see. We’ll see how that plays out this whole season.”
“I think they will surprise a lot of people; I tend they will slip in there and win the division”
As noted before, the division will be tough again including the slate late tonight against the Bears, but nevertheless, with a healthy A-rod and several weapons at his disposal, A-rod should find a way to squeak out at least 10 wins this season; The key will be how the offensive line will hold up and how efficient can the secondary be on 3rd downs.
