Add soft to the litany of adjectives used to describe future Hall of Famer Ben Roethlisberger. Analyst Jay Glazer apparently highlighted that Ben was in less than peak physical fitness. The comments found its way to Ben who then reached out to Glazer to express his dissatisfaction.
Glazer originally was pretty critical of the quarterback’s fitness level or lack thereof. Glazer was asked about Ben in The Athletic and said: “Hey, let’s not use the term fitness with Roethlisberger.” He went on to further describe those comments by saying “A good offseason for Ben Roethlisberger had been maybe a hot yoga session. I’ll never forget when he’d tell, ‘Oh, I had a great offseason, did hot yoga and then golf and beer.”
After Ben called Glazer taking exception to what was said Glazer backed off a little by then saying:
“He Is. He’s working out, he wants to come back and play and be at a better level. And sometimes you have to have a big setback to get you to kind of kickstart you in some areas that you need improvement. And, yes, fitness has never been his thing. He’s gotten away with it. But everybody’s killing me, like, I never said he wasn’t rehabbing the elbow, he definitely is rehabbing the elbow and not with yogurt, golf and beer. He’s actually doing it real.”
