I think people need to understand that this is just a product of social media.
What I mean by that is I am the late 80s, 90s and 2000s hip-hop guy. Back then there were a lot of songs that were worse than “WAP”, but there was no outlet for any and everybody to talk about it. MTV and BET maybe said some things, you might have a politician or two make a statement, but most of the conversation were between your friends.
Fast forward to 2020.
Anything someone does or what they do is amplified by 100x because the minute it happens everyone can speak on it. There are always going to be varying opinions in the end people need to realize it is just music and your idols you look up to shouldn’t be entertainers, athletes, musicians, rappers and etc.
The reason being you have no idea what life they are living behind the scenes.
Rap music, in general, you really shouldn’t take as gospel because first off most of it is make-believe and second off it is entertainment. It is like shooting up all your enemies because you saw John Wick. You should know the difference between entertainment and reality and as a parent you have to teach that to your kids.
This black father doesn’t like the video and he got a lot of push back on social media.
