Genasis’ hit single “Cut It,” which peaked at number 35 on the Billboard Hot 100. Young Dolph’s seventh album, Rich Slave, was released in 2020 and became his highest-charting project, debuting at number four on the Billboard 200.
On March 5, 2021, Dolph and Key Glock released the single “Aspen” and announced the release of their second collaborative album, Dum and Dummer 2, due for release on March 26, 2021. It is a sequel to 2019’s Dum and Dummer. The project’s cartoon artwork references Beavis & Butthead.
This wasn’t the first time that Dolph has been shot.
Young Dolph was shot outside of a retail store in Hollywood, Los Angeles on September 26, 2017. He was listed in critical condition at the hospital, but within a few hours doctors said that he was expected to survive.[15] He spent two weeks in the hospital to recover from his three gunshot wounds. Moments after the shooting, Yo Gotti was initially named as a person of interest in relation to the shooting. Yo Gotti was later cleared; his friend, Corey McClendon, was arrested for attempted murder but was released with no charges the next day.
Jeremy Pierre from Fox 13 in Memphis was on the scene where a shooting took place at Makeda’s Cookies.
Several people have recorded cell phone videos of Dolph’s lifeless arm hanging out of his car and speaking about how he has been killed. The videos are spreading quickly over social media, specifically Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Dolph has had a long-standing beef, as you saw above with Yo Gotti.
The videos are not for the weak of heart and contain sensitive content.
Here is confirmation from the cops.
Three independent law enforcement sources confirmed to FOX13 that rapper Young Dolph was shot and killed in Memphis Wednesday afternoon.
Maurice Hill, the owner of the shop where the shooting happened, Makeda’s Butter Cookies, told FOX13 his employees said Young Dolph walked into the store to buy cookies. Someone then drove up and then shot and killed him.
DJ Akademiks says that Dolph frequents the cookie establishment and was getting cookies for his mom when he was amused. Dolph returned fire but was hit too many times and succumbed to his injuries.
