Cameron Parks Shoots His Son’s Youth Football Coach Over His Boy’s Playing Time

An Indiana father named Cameron Parks has been arrested for shooting his son’s football coach after an argument at a Youth Football League game.

It is crazy how heated these youth games get.

Here is how it all went down via Channel 8 in Indy.

A man has been arrested after shooting his son’s football coach, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

IMPD said that officers were called around 2 a.m. Nov. 22 to a report of a person shot in the 3600 block of North Chester Avenue. That’s in a residential area southeast of East 38th Street and North Sherman Avenue.

Officers arrived to find Martin Walker, 36, was suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the IU Health Methodist Hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

Police said Cameron Parks, 43, was arrested Saturday in connection to the shooting. Officers said Parks had previously gotten into an argument in Tennessee with Walker, who’d coached Parks’ son in traveling youth football, according to court documents.

Prior to the shooting, Parks is believed to have forced another man at gunpoint to knock on the door to Parks’ house.

Parks has been charged with aggravated battery, kidnapping, unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, battery by means of a deadly weapon, intimidation, and pointing a firearm.

Believe it or not, he is out on bail, so if I were Walker, I’d make sure my doors were locked.

Parks apparently was upset about his boy’s playing time which is a common gripe with parents and youth coaches. I wish they could have handled it with their fists instead of a gun. Thankfully Walker wasn’t killed, but it might be best if Parks spends some time in jail. You can’t just be randomly shooting people like this.
