The simplest reason why Haskins’ wife had her Vegas assault charges dropped was that Haskins wasn’t cooperating with the police.
Since he was the one who was assaulted and had his tooth knocked out, the cops needed him to testify against his wife. You could clearly tell from his Instagram page that it wouldn’t happen because they are in love.
Hopefully, there haven’t been any domestic violence incidents since then. Considering the reason they were in Vegas was to celebrate their engagement. It appears Mrs. Haskins was upset that he spent a little too much time with his boys at the club, and that is when the rumbled happened.
Everything is all good now, though, according to TMZ Sports.
Dwayne Haskins’ wife is off the hook in her domestic violence case … TMZ Sports has learned the felony charge against her was dropped this month. Court records show Kalabrya Gondrezick-Haskins’ case was dismissed on Jan. 10. We reached out to the Clark County District Attorney’s Office multiple times for comment, but never heard word back.
As we previously reported, Kalabrya had been accused of causing “substantial” injuries to Dwayne during an altercation in Las Vegas back in July. In a police report, cops said they were called to The Cosmopolitan to investigate claims that Kalabrya had attacked the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback in their hotel room.
In the docs, cops noted Dwayne had a busted lip that needed stitches, as well as a missing tooth — and they eventually arrested Kalabrya.
As far as Haskins’ future, Ben Roethlisberger is retiring meaning, there is an open QB position in Pittsburgh that he and Mason Rudolph will be fighting for. Haskins is more physically gifted than Rudolph but has a reputation of not being as focused as he needs to be a starting quarterback in the NFL.
Haskins likely won’t get too many chances after this one, so he needs to have the offseason of his life. He needs to live at the Steelers facility 24/7.
