Deshaun Watson very clearly is calling all his 22 massage accusers liars.
I have said this from the beginning. In the first press conference Watson’s lawyer Rusty Hardin held, they have always contended that happy endings took place, but it was all consensual.
Anything that happened during the massages was reciprocal, and Watson never forced himself on anyone. He doubled down on that during his Browns introductory press conference.
“I understand the whole circumstances is very difficult, especially for the women side of the fans in this community. I’m not naïve to that. I know these allegations are very, very serious but like I mentioned before, I never assaulted any woman, I never disrespected any woman.”
“I was raised by a single-parent mom, who has two aunties, who has a sister … and that’s who raised me. I was raised to be genuine and respect everyone and everything around me. I’ve always defended that and I will continue to stand on that.”
“I don’t have any regrets. Like I said, the things off the field right now that came up caught me by surprise because I never did anything that these people are alleging.”
If you genuinely believe you are innocent, should you have regrets?
Watson should at least feel regrets about using 50+ IG model massage therapists instead of sticking with a few who were cool with his fetishes.
If there is one thing Watson maybe not understand is, even in his mind, he felt like he was being respectful and never crossed the line, you can’t get into the minds of the women who thought they were just planning to give him a regular massage and it ended up being more.
It really isn’t our right to tell those women how they should be feeling. It doesn’t mean anything criminal happened because to prove that, you have to prove that Watson forcefully made someone do something without their consent and that evidence isn’t there, but can you make someone feel like they have to do something because of your stature?
Absolutely.
The Browns don’t care about any of this. They are just trying to win a Super Bowl.
