Paula Patton got COOKED, no pun intended, when she shared her mom’s famous fried chicken recipe.
The main issue people had was that Paula didn’t season the chicken or the chicken in the flour but instead put her seasoning in the hot grease after placing the chicken in the pan. This is a problem, of course, because the hot oil burns up the seasoning immediately. Plus, you want your seasoning to be baked into the inside of the chicken, not the outside.
It appears Patton got word that she was going viral while on vacation in Mexico and decided to speak on the chicken controversy.
“I just wanted to respond and say, listen, I get it.” she said in an Instagram video she shared from Mexico. The post was captioned with the phrase: “Peace, love and fried chicken ❤️.”
“It might look crazy. It is the way we do it. My mom taught me,” Patton added.
“It’s all good because everybody’s got their own way of making things,” she continued.
“And I’ll take suggestions. I’ll make a new kind of fried chicken, but I’m gonna always make my mom’s chicken the way she did it,” she added. ‘We put the seasoning in the oil and all that. It’s just the way we do it.”
It is interesting to see when jokes are allowed, and they aren’t allowed.
Social media has decided that going off on Patton for two days straight is allowed, even if some jokes were pretty low-brow. It just lets you know it is a moving scale on what people consider appropriate it or not. Patton went on to say that she served her chicken to a bunch of school children.
The kids need to report back on what they thought about it.
