Anthony Edwards continues to prove that he might be the funniest man in basketball without even trying.
A hilarious tunnel video started going viral after Edwards stopped to talk trash to a group of young fans who were brave enough to challenge him. And by “challenge,” we mean standing there smiling while one of the most athletic humans on earth verbally cooked them for free.
The interaction started innocent enough. The kids were hyped to see the NBA superstar up close, then Anthony Edwards immediately turned into a full-time menace.
“Y’all hoop?” Edwards asked before instantly following it up with, “I’ll bust y’all ass.”
Just like that. No hesitation, no mercy. Straight competitive energy aimed directly at kids.
The funniest part was the confidence. Edwards sounded like he was personally offended anyone would even think they had a chance against him.
“You think I couldn’t dunk at 13?”
Somewhere nearby, those kids’ confidence immediately packed its bags and left the building.
Social media absolutely loved the clip because Anthony Edwards talks exactly like that one ridiculously talented player at the local gym who destroys everybody while smiling the entire time.
Honestly, that’s part of what makes Edwards so entertaining. He doesn’t sound media-trained, he sounds like somebody who would trash talk his own reflection if it looked at him wrong.
And somehow, the kids seemed to love every second of it.
Meanwhile, NBA fans online immediately started imagining what Anthony Edwards must have been like during pickup games as a teenager. Based on this clip, there’s a strong chance he was out there blocking shots, dunking on everybody, and ruining family cookouts before high school graduation.
The scary part is, he probably wasn’t exaggerating.
At this point, Anthony Edwards isn’t just becoming one of basketball’s brightest stars, he’s becoming one of the league’s greatest accidental comedians too.
And somewhere out there, those young fans are probably still replaying the moment they got roasted by an NBA superstar in a tunnel.
