Zach Wilson doesn’t seem to own up for his play on the field, and he’s making things worse in the locker room with his teammates. TPS reports that;
As the games get bigger, the franchise quarterback continues to come up short or just flat-out not show up. On Sunday, the Jets basically never had a QB behind center because Zach Wilson left his arm elsehwere. Wilson went 9-for-22, 77 yards and gave the team absolutely nothing to work with.
The Jets punted the ball ten times, their last of which turned into a Marcus Jones return for a game-winning touchdown.
Playing badly on the field is one thing, but Wilson is also rubbing his teammates the wrong way with his attitude behind the scenes.
“Sources inside the Jets’ losing locker room told SNY that Wilson was walking around after the game ‘like he isn’t the problem,’” Connor Hughes of SNY reported. “It rubbed more than a few the wrong way, frustrating several others.”
After the game, Wilson said “no” when asked during his postgame press conference if he felt his play let the defense down.
“I think you have to take into account it’s windy as hell out there, too, guys,” he added.
Hughes noted wide receivers Denzel Mims and Garrett Wilson each “snapped” at the quarterback following poor passes during the game. The Jets totaled two yards in the second half, and punter Braden Mann had more punts than the second-year quarterback had pass completions at 10-to-9.
The Jets need better and Wilson has to be better or he will see himself on the bench.
It is clear the Jets are a good team without a good QB and that will be their downfall unless Wilson starts playing better or they bench him for someone that can get them more than three points. It wasn’t that windy outside.
