Seahawks’ Geno Smith Projected To Be The 9th Highest Paid Quarterback In The NFL Next Season

How much Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith’s next contract will earn him revealed, and it’s huge! According to TPS, “the Seattle Seahawks star is in line for a two-year deal worth $78.6 million”.

Smith will be a free agent at the end of the current term and should attract lots of attention after leading his team to the playoffs and winning his first Pro Bowl honors. The 10-year veteran has been one of the best QBs in 2022/23, having won the starting job over Drew Lock in training camp.

The 32-year-old led the league in completion percentage while ranking fourth in passing touchdowns and fifth in passer rating.

Smith’s campaign is surely worthy of a huge contract but his value could be skewed by the fact that Tom Brady, Lamar Jackson, and Jimmy Garoppolo will all be free agents in the offseason as well. Derek Carr is also likely to be on the market after the Las Vegas Raiders shut him down.

There’s also the fact that it took him 10 years to put in a productive season, but there’s every chance the player earns himself some significant bank in 2023.

Geno says don’t be shocked if the Seahawks win this week.

“I would say it’s not a fairy-tale,” Smith said. “I’d say it’s very much reality, and where we are as a team is that we’ve been working hard. We put a lot of good stuff on tape as a team. I think we’ve came a long way since the beginning of the season, since training camp and OTAs, and it’s all just a result of the hard work and all the repetition that everyone has put in. For us that’s what it’s about, sticking to the process, staying focused on the process and making sure that’s the main focus and everything else will take care of itself.”
