Angel Reese has reacted to the First Lady of the United States Jill Biden wanting both Iowa and LSU at the White House. According to Reese, it’s a joke for Jill Biden to want both teams at the White House.
According to TPS;
First lady Jill Biden said Monday that she wants to see the defeated Iowa women’s basketball team invited to the White House alongside the LSU Tigers.
“I know we’ll have the champions come to the White House, we always do. So, we hope LSU will come,” she said, per the Associated Press. “But, you know, I’m going to tell Joe I think Iowa should come, too, because they played such a good game.”
LSU star and the NCAA tournament’s Most Outstanding Player, Angel Reese, would take to Twitter and respond with a fiery message of her own: “(Laughing emojis) A JOKE.”
Biden was in the stands as LSU smacked Iowa 102-85.
In her remarks, Jill Biden also marveled at how far women’s sports in the U.S. have come since Title IX in 1972 gave women equal rights in sports at schools that receive federal funding.
“It was so exciting, wasn’t it?” she said. “It was such a great game. I’m old enough that I remember when we got Title IX. We fought so hard, right? We fought so hard. And look at where women’s sports have come today.”
LSU women’s basketball star Angel Reese caught a lot of flak for her taunting of Iowa’s Caitlin Clark during the Tigers’ national championship victory on Sunday. Reese could be seen doing the infamous John Cena “You can’t see me” move by waving her hand across her face. She also pointed to her ring finger several times as well.
Clark used the ame ‘you can’t see me’ gesture against Louisville in the Elite Eight. But while social media largely praised Clark for her moxie, Reese got the opposite reaction. Many social media users called Reese “classless” for making the gesture with Iowa on the brink of defeat. After the game, Reese offered no apologies.
Reese was named the NCAA Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player following her 15-point, 10-rebound national championship, which was the first in LSU history.
