Whenever there is a fight with two explosive punchers, the first thing that boxing fans think about is.
HAGLER-HEARNS.
The most action packs nine minutes in boxing history and a fight that will be discussed when we are all long and gone.
Boxing fans have been trying to recapture that moment in a megafight for years, but it hasn’t happened. For a good reason, when you are in there with someone who can bang, it is more likely the fighters will be more cautious than reckless.
Even in a fight like Canelo-GGG 1, there was a feeling-out process before the fight started to take place.
With fights like Mayweather-Pacquiao, a fight never starts.
Expect much of the same with Tank Davis-Ryan Garcia because they both know that one punch can end it all. Anyone who has watched Tank Davis knows he isn’t a volume puncher.
Tank is a slow starter looking for his opponent to make mistakes or tiring out his opponent and taking him out in the late rounds.
Tank fought a C-Level version of Ryan Garcia, essentially in Rolly Romero. Romero was a naturally taller and bigger fighter whose only chance was knocking Tank out.
Tank fought very cautiously, and many people thought he was losing the fight when Rolly made his mistake, and then this happened.

I expect Tank to fight the exact same way against Ryan Garcia, who is a much better fighter than Romero. Tank will be very cautious for the first couple of rounds to see exactly how he deals with Garcia.
This will present an opponent for Garcia to try to catch Tank early before he gets warmed up and before Tank starts letting his hands go.
Suppose the fight starts getting into the later rounds that is when Garcia needs to be careful. When you get a little tired, Tank, who doesn’t expend much energy early in the fight, takes advantage. This is also when the weight stipulations might come into play.
I feel Garcia will be strong early, but will he have the stamina later if he can’t get Davis out of there early?
In the end, that is how the fight will go.
As long as Tank will can weather the early storm from Garcia, he will eventually slow Garcia down, and he will run into a counter punch, and then it is night night.
BSO prediction: Tank Knockouts Ryan Garcia in the 8th round.
