Brett Favre’s Mississippi welfare fraud case isn’t over as he is now facing new accusations over text messages. From how things are going, if Favre comes out of this fraud case without getting thrown into jail, then he is a lucky soul. It appears it’s all going against him in this Mississippi welfare fraud case.
The case has been going on for a while now and it doesn’t seem to end anytime soon as new allegations have been leveled against him. Man is in hot waters.
Former NFL quarterback Brett Favre is under some additional fire in his Mississippi Welfare case as he is accused of withholding certain pertinent text messages.
According to FrontOfficeSports.com, Favre is believed to have failed to disclose messages that could have been crucial to the matter, with the Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS) filing a document said to be 14 pages long which accuses him of failing to cooperate with requests for text message evidence.
The department claims that, while Favre’s name appeared as sender and recipient in the messages, he challenged their authenticity and did not confirm their validity.
“Despite being identified as the sender or recipient on the face of these text messages, Favre objected and claimed he could not verify many of these text messages’ authenticity,” the filing reads.
NEW on @FOS: Attorneys for Mississippi welfare agency (again) seeks text messages from Brett Favre, one more than 40 defendants in the civil case.
“Favre has failed to answer any of this discovery.” https://t.co/qpVdf429No

The MDHS also accuses the former quarterback of refusing to share texts with other defendants in the case despite their requests.
Favre was initially accused of accepting the sum of $1.1 million for appearances he did not fulfill but it has since taken on several new angles which have only served to make matters a lot more complicated.
This latest bit adds yet another layer to the already complex case.
Such fraud cases are taken seriously and I’m wondering what will be the outcome of this Mississippi welfare fraud case against Brett Favre.
