Floyd Mayweather Slams Devin Haney For Financial Offer To Shakur Stevenson and Visiting Australia ‘Twice’: “Be Upset With The Promoter”

Floyd Mayweather clarified that Devin Haney and Shakur Stevenson are negotiating to confirm a fight between them.

However, Mayweather sounded off at what Top Rank and Devin Haney offered to the undefeated Stevenson. ‘Money’ connected with FightHype and shed light on several things.

Meanwhile, Floyd Mayweather hinted that Devin Haney wanted 75% of the pot in the possible clash against Shakur Stevenson, which ‘Money May’ cited to be unfair.

His exact words were, “Devin made Shakur a [75/25] offer. Just because Top Rank made you go to Australia twice, which is not right. You need to be upset with the promoter. Shakur should be treated fair, just like Devin should’ve been.”

Devin Haney vanquished Vasyl Lomachenko in is last fight to defend the undisputed lightweight champion’s status. Following the bout, Stevenson entered the ring and desired to challenge Devin Haney for the title.

Since both men are undefeated and have tasted world champions, it makes sense to see them lock horns. 5’7” Shakur Stevenson is a southpaw and that can be troublesome to tackle for 5’8” Devin Haney, an orthodox.

That said, Shakur Stevenson, is currently trying ti get Vasyl Lomachenko inside the ring against him. It remains to be seen what turns out next for the ‘Fearless’.

What Did Floyd Mayweather Mean About Devin Haney’s Australia Trip?

Devin Haney fought George Kambosos Jr. for undisputed status at the Marvel Arena in Melbourne. After winning the fight, American fighter Haney flew down to Australia again in the rematch against Kambosos Jr.

To Rank Promotions hosted the fight. Notably, Floyd Mayweather began his career under Bob Arum’s Top Rank before promoting his own fights. That said, ‘TBT’ didn’t hesitate to criticize his former promoters.

Meanwhile, Devin Haney and Shakur Stevenson are both under the Top Rank Promotions at the time. Hence, it wouldn’t be hard to materialize the fight contractually. It is still not likely to happen immediately, but somewhere down the line.
