Francis Ngannou is set to make his boxing debut against Tyson Fury on October 28 in Riyadh, a fight that is considered to be lopsided in favor of Fury. At least on the papers. Although people are counting on Ngannou’s power, it’s still hard for the fans to envision him overpowering ‘The Gypsy King’.
While the mega-fight is on the brink of happening, former UFC MW Champion Luke Rockhold explained why Francis Ngannou shall fall short before Tyson Fury.
In a chat with Chamatkar Sandhu, Rockhold said, “Francis has power like no body else has power. He is a big guy. He is a strategic guy, he is hard to hit but if he can’t get you in the first two rounds, Francis is gonna get tired quickly.”
“You know throwing and not being used to the situation against a guy like him. It’s like you can’t expect Francis to have a big gas tank. You know as much as I love Francis, this is gonna be a tough fight.”

Francis Ngannou is one of the most prolific personas in the MMA world, who knocked out Stipe Miocic to earn his UFC heavyweight belt back in 2021. Nevertheless, he doesn’t have any professional experience in boxing while his next opponent Fury is considered the greatest heavyweight boxer of this generation.
Francis Ngannou can rely on his impeccable punching power. But Tyson Fury has fought hard hitters like Deontay Wilder and Dillian Whyte and neither man could impose any major threat to ‘The Gypsy King’. So, Francis Ngannou’s power might not be very unique for Tyson Fury.
