Has a new superstition about the Philadelphia Eagles emerged?
The Eagles’ thrilling 28-23 victory against the Dallas Cowboys earlier this month captured the attention of most spectators, but eagle-eyed supporters also noticed a staffer who was knocked down during the game and his red underpants.
The defense and football operations assistant, Matt Leo, accepted responsibility for the statement but clarified that it was a lucky pair of red and white boxer briefs rather than a “thong.”
Leo showed off those briefs on his Instagram story after the Eagles beat the Chiefs on Monday night, although he clarified in the post that it was a thong.
Of course the Eagles won with the lucky red thong in the building https://t.co/s72mb76vE5 pic.twitter.com/yAFun4zEpQ

The 6-foot-7 former defensive end was mostly a practice squad player and never saw action in an NFL game. Following his retirement in July 2023, he moved into coaching.
He seemed to have discovered his calling.
