The Minnesota Vikings have made another quarterback change to their roster. The organization declared on social media on Friday afternoon that Tanner Morgan, a former great quarterback for the Minnesota Golden Gophers, had been cut from the practice squad.
From 2017 to 2022, Morgan was a member of the Golden Gophers’ roster. In 2019, he was selected for the Second Team All-Big Ten. Having gone undrafted this year, he signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, only to be waived prior to the final roster cuts.

Morgan was added to the Vikings roster last month, but he was dismissed a few days later. After being returned on Wednesday, he was released 48 hours later.
In Week 9, Kirk Cousins, the starting quarterback for the Vikings, suffered a torn Achilles tendon. GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah made a trade for quarterback Josh Dobbs of the Arizona Cardinals prior to the trade deadline of October 31.
In preparation for the team’s Week 9 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons, Dobbs supported rookie Jaren Hall. After Hall departed the game due to a concussion, Dobbs had to play the entire game, and the seasoned journeyman helped Minny win 31-28 in the final seconds.
