BREAKING : Russell Wilson To Part Ways With Denver Broncos

Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos may soon be apart. That’s the theory put forth by former NFL wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh, at least.

In Week 15, after the Broncos’ crushing loss to the Detroit Lions, Wilson received a public reprimand from head coach Sean Payton. As a result, the former wideout now fears that Payton may cut ties with him at the end of the season. Houshmandzadeh told Collin Cowherd on ‘The Herd’,

“I’ve just never seen a head coach attack a quarterback like that. Never in practice, let alone in a game for everybody to see,” “To me, that shows me Sean Payton is fed up. I can’t see Russell Wilson lasting much longer in Denver.”

After watching his team miss a touchdown from a goal-line position and be forced to convert an offside penalty into a fourth down at the one-yard line, Payton lost patience.

Wilson remains respectful as always towards his HC

In a Monday interview with reporters, Wilson stated that he wanted to see his coach exhibit that level of emotion, but he refrained from responding to Payton. He said ,

“You want a coach that’s passionate,”  “We want players that are, too, and everything else. And so, we wanted to score a touchdown. I think my biggest thing is always trying to focus on the next play and unfortunately, those few plays, we didn’t get the touchdowns.”

From the previous season, Wilson and the Broncos have improved. With 2,832 yards passed for 24 touchdowns and 8 interceptions, he has a 97.5 quarterback rating. He is, however, averaging a career-low 6.9 yards per pass attempt.

Denver still has a chance to qualify for the postseason, but they’ll probably need to end the regular season with a perfect 3-0 run in order to give themselves a fair shot.
