With his ankle injury, DeVonta Smith and the Philadelphia Eagles seem to have dodged the worst case situation.
In Sunday’s dramatic home defeat to the Arizona Cardinals, the third-year wide receiver “suffered a mild ankle sprain,” according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. Smith’s injury is likewise not “considered serious,” according to Fowler.

Eagles supporters were understandably extremely alarmed when they saw Smith exiting Lincoln Financial Field with a walking boot on his right leg and crutches. Thankfully, it looks like the Alabama product is healthy and ready for the team’s first playoff match.

To win the division, the Eagles must defeat the New York Giants and hope for a loss or tie against the Washington Commanders by the Dallas Cowboys. If not, the Eagles will finish as the fifth seed and play the NFC South winner (Tampa Bay or New Orleans) in the Wild Card Round.
