In the Tee Higgins free agent sweepstakes, it appears that a team to keep an eye on is an emerging NFC contender.
Before the 2023 season, which would have been the final of Higgins’ rookie contract, he and the Cincinnati Bengals were unable to come to a new agreement. It appears probable that Higgins will make his career debut on the open market given how frugal Bengals owner Mike Brown has always been.
A former NFL executive told NFL Analysis Network’s Evan Massey that the Green Bay Packers appear prepared to make a significant move in free agency, even bringing up Higgins’ name as a possible target:
“I think Green Bay is a fun one to keep an eye on. With Jordan Love, they have their guy, and they’re going to do everything in their power to put the pieces around him. They’re very happy with their wide receivers, but I actually think they’re strongly considering swinging big on a guy like Tee Higgins.”

Around Jordan Love, the Packers have a strong group of young pass-catchers in Christian Watson, Luke Musgrave, Jayden Reed, and Tucker Kraft. However, they could use a proven star like Higgins, who has amassed 24 career touchdowns and two seasons of 1,000 yards.
Although Green Bay doesn’t often spend a lot of money on free agency, they have enough budget space to add one or more more potent playmakers to surround Love. So why not try to add a player like Higgins to an offensive line that is already formidable?
