Rex Ryan‘s comments about Dak Prescott‘s play against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night have drawn criticism from fans.
The Cowboys were the first No. 2 seed to lose to a No. 7 seed in the playoffs since the payout system was altered to accommodate 14 participants in 2020. It was an unexpected and humiliating loss for the team.
Naturally, a large portion of the responsibility has fallen on Prescott. The former NFL coach, who defended him on Monday morning’s “Get Up,” doesn’t believe he is to blame for the defeat, though.
Prescott did throw for 403 yards, but the majority of those yards came after the game was already well underway. In addition, he had two interceptions in the first half, one a pick-six that put the Packers ahead by 27 points. The reason for Ryan’s criticism on X is this.
Some responses are displayed below:
Jerry Jones should listen to Rex Ryan, actually. Don’t fire Mike McCarthy. Stay with Dak Prescott. As an Eagles fan, I’d love to continue seeing this every year 🤣

Rex Ryan said that Dak is not the reason why the Cowboys lost the game yesterday because he had threw for 400 yards . I’m done even a duff like Rex is fooled by the numbers. pic.twitter.com/2cJlLxnEMG

On #GetUp, Rex Ryan seems to have forgotten that Dak literally is the cause of two touchdowns. What planet is he living on? pic.twitter.com/boOujc80FJ

Hold up, so I’m watch ESPN get up and Rex Ryan is saying that it wasn’t Dak’s fault that they lost. pic.twitter.com/vuSfGaN94W

The Cowboys are expected to start over from scratch once more, and since this latest collapse is regarded as the worst of the bunch, there may be a significant upheaval.
Regarding Dak, the QB for Dallas was rumored to be approaching a significant contract extension. There are now concerns about his ability to command a higher salary after his disappointing postseason performance.
