Fox Sports will be Tom Brady‘s first broadcasting employer when he begins in 2024.
The former star of the New England Patriots has agreed to a massive 3-year deal of $375 million (£297 million), making him the league’s top analyst starting in the upcoming season.
Brady gave supporters a preview of his future duty during a visit on SiriusXM NFL Radio, prior to taking on his new role. He expressed his opinions about quarterbacking as it stands today, saying:
“The only problem I see in today’s quarterback is that the coaches are trying to play chess, but the quarterbacks aren’t. “Now when they get the ball, it’s like ‘okay, we’ve got a bunch of crossing routes in the cover too and that’s not good, let me hold the ball and run it. Then people on TV go ‘great play way to run’, but in my mind, I’m thinking ‘why did you snap the ball?'”
“You clearly knew nobody was going to be open, and in all my years of playing that wasn’t going to be open, but how do we continue to say to the quarterbacks that they have got to see the whole picture.”
