The main competitor of the Los Angeles Lakers for the services of Atlanta Hawks standout combo guard Dejounte Murray has essentially left the arena.
A deal between Atlanta Hawks and New Orleans Pelicans for Dejounte Murray has halted with no progress in sight by the trade deadline, league sources tell @NBAonTNT, @BleacherReport.

There is no longer any chance of negotiations between Atlanta and the New Orleans Pelicans, sources tell Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report.
Murray, a former San Antonio Spurs All-Star and All-Defensive Team selection, has never quite clicked with Hawks All-Star point guard Trae Young during their lackluster tenure together. Murray is more of an instinctive point guard than an off-guard and does best with the ball in his hands, which accounts for a portion of that.
However, since D’Angelo Russell, the starting lead guard for the Lakers, and Murray have nearly identical contracts, it doesn’t mean Murray can’t succeed in Los Angeles, where he would presumably return to the point.
