In the boxing world, Jake Paul has gone from being a nobody to what we see now. His next task is Mike Tyson, something he never thought would happen.
After the news of his bout with the legend was made public on Thursday, TMZ Sports looked through their interview archives. It’s amazing to see how far the guy has come in such a short period of time.
Jake categorically declined in 2020 when TMZ asked him whether he would fight a boxing legend like Tyson or Evander Holyfield. Paul had told TMZ back then,
“Look, I’m confident, but I’m not stupid.” “I would not go into the ring with them. Nah, no chance.”
Has Jake Paul come a long way in the world of boxing ?
Remember, this was back when Jake was just a “silly YouTube kid” who wanted to use boxing fights to deal with his lengthy list of famous foes. That was before his viral knockouts of Tyron Woodley, Ben Askren, and Nate Robinson, and his spectacular victories against Nate Diaz and Anderson Silva.
He is currently one of the most well-known fighters on the planet, a prosperous promoter, and he hopes to win the world title. In July, he will face Iron Mike in a huge event at AT&T Stadium.

He told them in that same interview that his only objectives in boxing were to establish himself as a “legitimate fighter” and “earn people’s respect,” so he’s accomplished far more than he ever could have imagined.
Paul did anticipate facing prominent boxers and UFC fighters at some point, and it doesn’t get much bigger than Tyson.
