Dejounte Murray scored in the final second of overtime to give the Atlanta Hawks a 123-122 victory over the Boston Celtics. Murray, 27, set a career high with 44 points, including all 11 for the Hawks in overtime at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Hawks also defeated the Celtics on Monday, rallying from 30 points down to win 120-118.
The Celtics lead the Eastern Conference, with the Hawks in tenth. Murray said,
“That’s the best team in the league – we competed,”
The New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 107-100 at Smoothie King Center. Zion Williamson scored 28 points and CJ McCollum added 25 to help the hosts win, while Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 35 points. Pelicans coach said,
“[Williamson] is putting the team on his shoulders,” “That was a gutsy win on our home floor. It was a good defensive performance by us. We played with force from start to finish.”
Boston was on a nine-game winning streak previous to Atlanta’s back-to-back losses, but they are certain to play in the upcoming season-ending playoffs as the top seed in the East.
