For the Houston Rockets, Jalen Green and Cam Whitmore are highly regarded players. Jalen Green and Cam Whitmore of the Houston Rockets are two of the league’s most athletic guards.
Coach Ty Lue of the Los Angeles Clippers agrees that both players are high-volume scorers for the Rockets with promising futures. Ty Lue said according to The Athletic,
“T-Mac and Vince Carter when they got to Toronto,”
“It reminds me a lot of those two guys. Two very athletic guys understanding how to figure it out how to play with one another. Kind of the same duo over here in Houston.”
Although Carter and McGrady only spent two seasons together with the Toronto Raptors before the former signed a contract with the Orlando Magic in 2000, both players were seen to be exceptional athleticism who, had they stayed teammates, could have dominated the league.
How long Green and Whitmore will get that opportunity together in Houston is still up in the air. With just one more season left on his deal, Green will be eligible for restricted free agency the following year, which means he may be a trade target for some time to come.
But if the Rockets decide to give Green more time and let him develop with Whitmore, the two might become a formidable duo in the future.
