The San Antonio Spurs overcame a late deficit to defeat the Brooklyn Nets in a significant game.
The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Brooklyn Nets 122-115 in overtime today at the Moody Center, so they can return from Austin with a smile on their faces.
With twenty-five seconds remaining in overtime, the Spurs led by one point. Following a defensive hiccup, the Spurs quickly extended their lead to three points. Cam Johnson missed a three-point attempt that would have tied the game for the Nets. After grabbing a rebound, the Spurs virtually won the match.
Spurs remained withing reach of Nets entire game
The Spurs never allowed the Nets to get too far ahead after they built a lead in the first quarter.
This carried over into the half, with Brooklyn leading by one point heading into the locker room.
Still, throughout the second half, the Spurs and Nets traded barbs. After taking a 10-point lead into the fourth quarter, it seemed as though the Nets would coast to victory, but the Spurs came back to force overtime.
