Paul George Offers Vital Guidance to Possible No.1 NBA Draft Pick: “Just Cease Every Moment That You Can”

Alex Sarr will start realizing his aspirations of playing in the NBA in a few weeks. Paul George gave some very helpful advise to the probable number one pick prior to the draft process starting. The Clippers player, who has served as an excellent mentor to a number of young players in the league, went into great detail about the value of forming relationships and acting like a true professional.

The league has included Paul George since 2010. Along with playing for three teams throughout the previous 14 years, he has collaborated with over 100 colleagues on the floor. With all of this knowledge at his disposal, he stated,

“Enjoy the moment, enjoy the process, enjoy your teammates, enjoy the grind with those teammates because at some point you might not play with them. The good relationship you build with them you might not see them or be teammates with them. I think just cease every moment that you can out of every team that you’re on because you don’t get a redo,”

Paul George speaks about being preofessional in NBA

Only a select few players play for one team their entire career because the NBA is a business. Being a true professional will benefit Sarr’s prospects of playing for another team for the same reason. George’s absurd remark that “you play for the other 29 teams as well” therefore only makes sense. Paul stated,

If it comes a moment where they decide they don’t want you there anymore and they decide to move on or however way it may be, they ultimately have the deciding factor of how your future is going to look. Because if you come in you’re not a hard worker you, you’re not a good locker room guy, all of that stuff is being reported back to other teams,”

Before bringing the 19-year-old prospect to round out the section, the Los Angeles Clippers player offered one last piece of advice.

“Avoid alcohol during halftime,” George urged Sarr in a humorous way.

Sarr has experience playing structured professional basketball, having previously competed in the Australian league. He should therefore have no trouble making an impression on league teams thanks to his work ethic, maturity, and professionalism.
