Well, talk about a scandal hitting the fitness world! If you haven’t heard already, powerlifter Stefi Cohen recently made headlines for all the wrong reasons. The powerhouse athlete was arrested for allegedly posting nudes of a woman online after supposedly hacking into her ex-boyfriend’s computer.
Now, if there’s one thing we know about Stefi Cohen, it’s that she’s a force to be reckoned with in the gym. From crushing world records to inspiring her followers with badass workout videos, she’s built quite a reputation in the fitness community. But this recent incident has left many of her fans shocked and disappointed.
Stefi Cohen – real name Stefanie Cohen Margarici – was booked into a Miami jail on several charges including sexual cyber-harassment.
Cohen, 32, was also charged with resisting arrest after she tried to sweep an officer off his feet with her leg, according to a police report.
Two officers were able to get her into custody but once she was inside the car, Cohen used her toes to break the locking system on the door, read the report.
Investigators say that it all started when Cohen accessed a computer that had been left behind in a house by her ex-boyfriend in March 2022.
She accessed the man’s Apple iCloud account and found naked photos of his new girlfriend, read the report.
Cohen allegedly saved the photos and later shared them on group chats, of which the other woman was a part.
According to the other woman, Cohen said she sent the photos “with the purpose of exposing and humiliating her,” the report said.
The computer access was unauthorized and the woman said she sent the photos only for her boyfriend to see and didn’t give consent for them to be shared with anyone else.
Cohen appeared in court on Wednesday, where she was granted a $3,300 bond and told to stay away from her ex and his girlfriend.
As for Stefi Cohen, we are hoping she learns from this experience and takes steps to make amends for any harm caused.
