The Kansas City Chiefs‘ off-field issues have caused headlines, and the team has had a turbulent offseason. Particularly, wide receiver Rashee Rice has been the subject of legal disputes and litigation. Now, though, he’s trying to tip the scales in his favor.
Rice recently shared on Instagram how he was giving water and pizza to Dallas’ homeless and underprivileged people as part of his quest to find atonement. The 24-year-old pledged in the video to have a constructive influence, saying,
“It’s your boy double R. We’re out here with some water and some pizza in the summertime. Everybody’s got to eat, you know what I’m saying, it’s great weather. Let’s do it.”

For Rice, who has been coping with the fallout from a serious incident, this act of kindness is a big step forward.
He was a passenger in a multi-vehicle collision on a Dallas roadway in late March. According to reports, he was driving his Lamborghini Urus at 119 mph when it collided. According to the affidavit, Rice and the other four people left the site of the incident.

Although this episode has clearly damaged Rice’s reputation, his latest act of kindness shows that he is willing to evolve as a person. It’s a commendable action that shows his commitment to atonement and constructive community involvement.
