Have you heard about the wild news that a Milwaukee Brewers employee named Aimee Betro has been identified as the “female assassin” from a failed murder attempt in Europe? If not, buckle up because this story is like something straight out of a movie.
You may be wondering how someone working for a baseball team became a hitman in Europe. It’s a story that has captured the attention of people around the world, with many questioning how someone could go from working in sports to attempting murder in a foreign country.
The Mail reports that Betro was employed “as an administrator for the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team.”
Birmingham Live describes her as a “female assassin from America” who “tried to shoot a man in the street in Birmingham.”
It’s reported that a father and son, namely Mohammed Nazir and Mohammed Aslam, were found guilty of being involved in the unsuccessful murder plot. Betro, said to have been contracted to carry out the killing, remains at large, according to prosecutors.
The British papers claim the 44-year-old was hired to kill boutique owner Sikander Ali because of a business dispute and wore a hijab as a disguise, but her gun jammed during the attempt.
“She walked quite calmly towards Sikander Ali and was pointing a gun at him at head height,” prosecutor Kevin Hegarty said, per the Daily Beast. “As she got closer to Sikander Ali he saw her and he saw the gun and she pulled the trigger to fire the gun at him. Mercifully and luckily for him, the gun jammed.”
The site also noted that there were conflicting reports on the target and that Betro “may have actually intended to kill the man’s father Aslat Mahumad.”
She reportedly sent him a text asking, “Where are you hiding?” after the failed attempt.
Betro, who fled the country, is believed to be back in the United States and is also alleged to have used fake names at the hotels she stayed in.
In the meantime, Betro is now a wanted woman, with European authorities on the hunt for her. It’s a surreal situation that has left many scratching their heads and wondering just how someone like Aimee Betro could end up in such a predicament.
