A modest college dating story for Kelly Stafford sparked a massive online outcry. The media and football fans went crazy when Kelly disclosed that she dated one of her now-husband’s backups while in college, which prompted her to make a public apology. Many, though, like NFL veteran Channing Crowder, felt that this was insufficient, and she has now encouraged her husband, Matthew Stafford, to take over.

Matthew has said nothing about the whole thing in spite of the overwhelming outcry. Many people don’t find this shocking, but others—like Crowder—think Matthew ought to play a bigger part and have an intervention with his wife.
Channing Crowder seems perplexed by Matthew Stafford’s wife Kelly Stafford’s behaviour
The former NFL linebacker thinks Kelly didn’t need to name Joe Nixon in her apology, whom she denied dating in college, despite reports to the contrary. Crowder isn’t sure if Kelly said what she said for fame or if she’s missing the drama in her life. He said,
“I just don’t know what’s going on, man. Matt’s a good dude. We sat down and talked to Matt in L.A., and Matt’s a good dude. They (Matt and Kelly) need to sit down and have some type of intervention. I don’t know if Kelly likes the fame of this. If this is something she has been missing.”

Crowder also thinks Kelly heightened the tension by apologizing in public and addressing Cox and his wife by name. Kelly appeared to “want them hands from Mrs. Cox,” in his opinion. It should come as no surprise that supporters feel the same way.
