Cam Newton capitalized on the excitement around flag football’s 2028 Olympics. When someone brought up the topic on his “4th & 1” web program, the former NFL quarterback put on his general manager hat and assembled a team that will challenge the best in the world.

The obvious picks, such as Travis Kelce at tight end and Tyreek Hill for wide receiver, were made. After two seasons in a row with 1,700 yards with the Miami Dolphins, Hill was selected to the First Team All-Pro for the sixth time. In the meantime, Kelce contributed to the Kansas City Chiefs‘ third Super Bowl victory in the previous five years.
Cam Newton’s team features a few suprises
Cam Newton chose Greg Olsen as his second tight end and Calvin Johnson as his other wide out. Johnson only played in nine NFL seasons. In addition, he has the record for receiving yards in a single season (1,964 in 2012).
Who is passing the ball to these athletes? Against other countries, Newton made the decision to start at quarterback for this “dream team,” which would guard the home field. Apart from winning the NFL Most Valuable Player Award in 2015, Newton has been selected for three Pro Bowls.
Other selections chosen by Newton included linebackers Ray Lewis and Luke Kuechly, defensive end J.J. Watt, and running back Christian McCaffrey. He will start Troy Polamalu and Ed Reed at safety and Jalen Ramsey and Stephon Gilmore at cornerback in the secondary. If this team participated in the Olympics, it had a strong roster and could win everything.
