Tom Brady on the $376 Million the Cowboys Spent on Dak Prescott

The NFL Hall of Famer thinks that the Cowboys‘ recent signing of Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, who both signed four-year contracts worth $34 million apiece, demonstrate the team’s dedication to their core players.

Based on his personal encounters with NFL clubs that have taken comparable actions, Brady believes Dallas is pursuing the tried-and-true method of winning the Super Bowl.

After learning from the mistakes committed the previous season, when the team’s 12-win record ended in an upset in the playoffs, the contract extensions that locked down Prescott and Lamb were implemented. Brady stated:

They’re looking to get back to that situation and perform better in the playoffs.”

The team’s ultimate objective is to not only make the playoffs but to do well once they do. The message is clear: Dallas, who last won a championship on January 28, 1996, against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XXX, is getting ready to make another run at the championship.

Prescott’s 2-5 postseason record has drawn a lot of criticism, raising further doubts about his ability to take Dallas to the Super Bowl and snap the franchise’s championship drought. Brady, at least, has hope that he will.

The onus is on Prescott to perform when it counts most since the Cowboys have finally signed the largest-ever four-year, $240 million contract with the quarterback.
