When Dwight Howard Was Abused by Kobe Bryant, Who Said : “You Soft as an Mf-Er”

Fans now honor and remember Dwight Howard as a vital member of the Lakers team that won the 2020 championship. He was, nevertheless, once among the most despised guys in Los Angeles. This followed Howard’s 2012–13 one-year stay with the Lakers.

Howard became a pariah in the City of Angels because of his inefficiency, which added to the Lakers’ injury problems that season. The Lakers were abruptly eliminated from the playoffs in the opening round because he was unable to bring his DPOY form to Los Angeles. When Howard returned to Los Angeles as a Houston Rockets player a year later, things became more heated.

Dwight Howard and Kobe Bryant’s battle of words

After a play, Howard and Kobe Bryant, the center for the Lakers, got into a heated argument. Bryant may have been upset over the center’s lackluster time at LA. Howard was trying to start an offensive possession after snagging a defensive rebound under the rim. Bryant, however, had other ideas as he thrashed his arms in the Rockets star’s face in an attempt to stifle him. Howard attempted to elbow Kobe in the face as a result.

The two former teammates quickly got into a heated argument after the referee penalized Howard for a foul right away. A video of Kobe and Howard arguing was shared by an X account, in which Bryant is heard shouting, “Try me.”

Fortunately for D12, the Rockets won that game 108-90, so he would have the final laugh that day. Bryant was the Lakers’ top scorer with 19 points, while Howard recorded a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Even though Howard won the game, his time with the Lakers had been a complete bust. That could have played a part in Kobe’s angry outburst against him. The experienced center’s failure to show up when his team most needed him infuriated the Mamba.
