Jimmy Butler Gets Suspended for Miami Heat Again

After missing a team flight to Milwaukee, Miami Heat player Jimmy Butler received a two-game suspension, which is the latest in a string of disciplinary actions that have damaged his relationship with the organization. More rumors regarding Butler’s future with the Heat surfaced after the organization announced the suspension on Wednesday.

The fact that Butler finally made his court appearance last Friday after serving a seven-game suspension for “conduct detrimental to the team” has not helped his cause, making this his second suspension in as many weeks.

Butler was eventually kept home from the two-game road trip, which includes games against the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday and the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday, despite his initial plans to join the team later in the evening, according to sources.

The Miami Heat makes a statement on Jimmy Butler

The Heat highlighted the tense relationship between the star player and the team by saying that Butler’s words and actions show that he no longer wants to be a member. In addition to his absences, Butler’s stated wish to be traded has garnered media attention.

Rumor has it that the talented guard wants to join fellow All-Stars Devin Booker and Kevin Durant at the Phoenix Suns. Butler’s trade request has been acknowledged by Heat President Pat Riley, who also said the organization will consider offers.

It has been difficult to locate a good deal despite the continuous trade rumors. The Heat are seeking a trade that returns a mix of youthful talent, draft capital, and guys who can help them win right now.

Butler is still out for the time being. The Orlando Magic game on Monday might be his earliest possible comeback, but it’s unclear if he will still be on the team by then and what his future holds.
