NFLPA Boss Lloyd Howell Jr.’s Strip Club Spending Revealed After Controversial Resignation

Following the records this week that revealed he charged the union for two trips to strip clubs, including a $738.82 car service that brought him from the airport to one of the clubs, former NFL Players Association leader Lloyd Howell Jr. resigned.

Hours before Howell abruptly quit late Thursday night, ESPN started to inquire about the records, which contain union-approved spending reports and receipts.

Howell was picked up in a sedan by a car service at Fort Lauderdale International Airport on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2023, at 10:26 p.m., according to one receipt that ESPN was able to get.

Howell accompanied two union employees to the Magic City strip club on February 21 at this year’s NFLPA summit. According to sources and papers, the visit resulted in $2,426 in expenses, including cash withdrawals from a club ATM ranging from $200 to $525. They had two “VIP rooms.”

The expenditure report cites the following as the reason for the strip club outing: “Player Engagement Event to support & grow our Union.”

Howell received $3.6 million last year after winning the 2024 union presidency. He moved to Miami in 2019, and according to documents, he spent $6.8 million in September of that year on a three-bedroom condo in Sunny Isles Beach’s Porsche Design Tower. It has “in-unit garages for owners to house their prized vehicles.”
