Sports media personality Joy Taylor embraced her inner horror icon Thursday, donning the signature look of Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, in a sultry Instagram video that lit up social media on Halloween.
Taylor, the host of the “Two Personal Show” podcast and former co-host of FS1’s “Speak,” posted the clip to her @joytaylortalks account, captioning it:
“The Queen of Halloween 💋 @therealelvira Makeup by @lisadempseymakeup Video by @qtherebel.”
In the short video, Taylor channels the late-’80s icon perfectly: towering black beehive wig, ghostly pale foundation, dramatic black eyeliner, blood-red n lips and a skin-tight, low-cut black gown that plunges daringly. She strikes seductive poses — hand on hip, smoldering stare into the camera — set to eerie music, evoking Elvira’s playful, vampish allure.
The post quickly racked up likes and shares across platforms, with fans hailing it as a Halloween masterpiece.
“LMFAO she kinda killed it with this costume,” tweeted @jayroo69. “Best Halloween costume I’ve seen so far. She nailed it!!” added @sir_pableo.
On X, users gushed: “I AM CRYYYYYIIIINNNNNGGGG 😭🤣🤣🤣 She won Halloween, it’s over,” from @Ororo101. Another proclaimed, “Joy Taylor out-Elviras Elvira herself … 🔥🔥🔥🔥.”
Reddit’s r/JoyTaylor subreddit lit up with fresh posts of the look, captioned “As Elvira for Halloween event, from IG 10.31.2025.”
Taylor, known for her elaborate annual Halloween transformations — past costumes include space lizards and mystery solvers — once again delivered commitment to the bit.
Elvira creator Cassandra “Elvira” Peterson, 74, recently told AP her character was inspired by Elvis Presley, cementing her as “Queen of Halloween” for over 40 years.
Taylor tagged @therealelvira, paying homage as fans crowned her the 2025 successor.
