Indiana Pacers rookie guard Kam Jones was arrested on October 20 following a high-speed police chase through Indianapolis. According to authorities, Jones was spotted driving a black Cadillac at nearly 90 mph in a zone limited to around 55 mph. When state troopers attempted to pull him over, Jones reportedly did not stop, leading to a short pursuit on Interstate 65.
The chase, that lasted four miles, came to an end near the Fletcher Avenue exit, where Jones eventually complied and pulled over. He told officers he hadn’t realized how fast he was going and was simply “running late for practice.”

Jones was taken into custody and booked on two charges: felony resisting law enforcement and misdemeanour reckless driving. The Indiana Pacers issued a brief statement acknowledging the incident, saying they are aware of the situation and currently gathering more details.
The arrest comes just days before the NBA season opener, casting early shadows on the rookie’s debut. If convicted, this could result in 2.5 years in the slammer and a hefty fine.
