Chiefs Statement After Dacoda Nichole Jones Accuses Rashee Rice of Domestic Violence

The Kansas City Chiefs acknowledged awareness of domestic abuse allegations against wide receiver Rashee Rice in a statement released Wednesday, deferring further comment as the NFL reviews the matter.

“The club is aware of the allegations on social media and is in communication with the National Football League. We have no further comment at this time,” the team said in the brief statement.

The response came hours after Rice’s ex-girlfriend, Dacoda Nichole Jones, posted a detailed account on Instagram accusing him of eight years of physical and emotional abuse, including assaults during pregnancy, property destruction and neglect of their two children. Jones included multiple photos purportedly showing bruises, injuries and damaged belongings as evidence.

Rice, 25, has not publicly addressed the claims, and attempts to reach him or his representatives were unsuccessful.

Rice already served a six-game suspension earlier this season stemming from a 2024 high-speed car crash in Dallas that led to charges of aggravated assault and collision involving injury.

No police report related to Jones’ accusations has been filed as of Wednesday, according to available records. Domestic violence experts emphasize that such claims often require thorough investigation, noting the complexities in abusive relationships where victims may delay reporting.

The allegations have sparked widespread discussion on social media, with support for Jones from figures like Tia Jones, ex-fiancée of Chiefs teammate Xavier Worthy, amid scrutiny over similar past disputes.
