The ex-girlfriend of Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice accused him of years-long domestic abuse in a social media post Wednesday, shortly after photos surfaced appearing to show him with model and rapper Rubi Rose.
Dacoda Nichole, who says she has two songs with rice, detailed allegations of physical and emotional abuse spanning eight years in an Instagram post. She shared graphic images of injuries, including bruises and cuts, as evidence of the claimed assaults. It appears that Nichole wrote that she decided to speak out after seeing reports of Rice’s apparent new relationship, stating the abuse included controlling behavior and threats. Nichole also stated several times that Rice had cheated on her in the relationship.
The accusations emerged hours after entertainment account Hollywood Unlocked posted on Instagram speculating that Rubi Rose “might have a new man” based on recently surfaced photos. Comments on the post quickly linked the unidentified man to Rice, citing visible tattoos, jewelry and other details matching the NFL player’s appearance. Online discussions suggested Nichole’s revelations were prompted by the publicity around the images, with some users speculating Rose may have been unaware of Rice’s alleged history.
The Chiefs said in a statement that they are aware of the allegations and have been in touch with the NFL.
This is not Rice’s first brush with off-field controversy. In 2024, he was involved in a high-speed car crash in Dallas that led to charges of aggravated assault, collision involving serious bodily injury and reckless driving. He avoided jail time through a plea deal and served a suspension from the NFL. Rice, a second-round draft pick out of Southern Methodist University, has been a key contributor to the Chiefs’ offense, recording 938 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in his rookie season.
Nichole’s post included a call for accountability, urging others in similar situations to seek help. Domestic violence hotlines and resources were shared in responses to her allegations. The NFL has not commented on potential discipline, but league policy requires an investigation into such claims. As of this hour the post is still live on Instagram.
Rose, 28, known for her music career and modeling, has not publicly addressed the rumors or allegations. Her representatives also did not respond to inquiries.
